6-year-old dies in house fire

A 6-year-old child has passed away after he was trapped inside a house that was destroyed in a fire early this morning.

Police say the tragic incident occurred at Akbar Road, Vitawa in Rakiraki at around 2 o’clock this morning.

They say the boy was trapped inside a six bedroom house owned by a 65-year-old farmer.

The other ten occupants managed to escape unharmed.

Police investigation continue.
