Six cases of serious sex offences were withdrawn in May due to inconsistent evidence, false complaints and inability to locate victims.
According to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, there was one incident where a 49-year-old man and a 21-year-old were charged with the rape and sexual assault of a 21-year-woman, however, this matter was discontinued after the victim admitted to making a false complaint against the accused persons who were her father and brother.
A 24-year-old man was charged with the rape of his 17-year-old niece, however, this matter was discontinued after the victim admitted that the sex was consensual.
