58,695 individuals have been successfully vaccinated with the Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine in the Northern Division.
World Health Organisation says of the campaign’s 133,325 target population, the campaign has so far achieved 44 percent percent of its target which is still low.
WHO says the vaccination teams have been dispatched to the communities in the North that continue to face difficulties in getting identification of members of the public.
For registration purposes, adults are encouraged to bring their valid photo ID and their birth certificate or COVID Vaccination card.
Children are also advised to bring their birth certificates if they wish to get their vaccination outside school.
However, for babies above 9 months of age, their parents are to bring their birth certificates as well as their Ids(parents).
WHO says in instances where the birth certificate is not yet available or has not been produced, an alternative form of documentation such as the Maternal and Child Health card may be utilized as a valid substitute.
For non-Fijian citizens, passports and work permits are required.
WHO adds since the launching of the vaccination campaign on the 4th of July in Fiji, people with comorbidities including children in the age group of 9 months to 15 years old and those from 15 years to 65 years have been vaccinated with nil adverse reactions.
