56 member Govt team departs for Kadavu

A 56 member government team departed for Kadavu earlier this morning to attend to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases on the island.

Chief Surgeon, Doctor Josese Turagava is leading the team.

They are expected to spend a month on the island.

Minister for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management, Inia Seruiratu and Commissioner Eastern Division, Vitale Varo were present at the wharf to farewell the team for this deployment.

Kadavu has 135 active cases with one death.
