The Savusavu Hall's will benefit youths, senior citizens, and the future generation of their community.
While speaking at the launch of the Savusavu Hall, Minister of Housing and Rural Development, Maciu Nalumisa says the primary purpose of this community hall is to serve as a hub for community building for the 85 families within the Savusavu rental estate in Naqere.
Nalumisa says this hall will provide a venue for estate meetings, awareness programs and various gatherings that benefit the community, from birthdays, and weddings to educational seminars and social events.
He says the construction of this beautiful open-air vented hall covering a total area of 140 square metres is a testament to achievement when they work together with a total cost of $550,579.
The Minister says the Public Rental Board has been promoting economic and financial empowerment for tenants around Fiji by engaging the Ministry of Trade and Commerce to conduct financial literacy training for the past 18 months.
He adds and are also other training institutions and NGOs that have also been providing financial literacy training to the tenants around Fiji and with this hall now being opened it can be utilised for such training.
