As of yesterday, 163,186 Fijians have received their first booster dose which is 52.2% of the target population.
24,543 people have so far received their second booster dose.
Permanent Secretary for Health, Doctor James Fong is urging people to get their booster.
He says they envision that the more people getting the booster doses, the better the level of protection, and the safer it will become to remove the remaining public health measures further.
Dr Fong adds the Ministry is targeting an 80% booster coverage for those over 18 years of age and they may review this threshold if the current trends in cases and severe disease hold.
