Minister for Education Rosy Akbar says this year they have allocated 50 National Toppers Scholarships for Diploma in Counselling for Year 13 students.
While speaking during the graduation of 35 people who have gained a Diploma in Counselling from APTC, Akbar says they recognize the need to have counsellors and this is a progressive effort.
She adds that every school has a Child Protection Officer.
Akbar also says the counsellors will play an important role in helping children come out of the trauma they face.
The Minister adds while they want students to return to school, they also want to provide the psycho-social support to students.
She says the RFMF will be assisting 700 students with their school supplies.
