5 players part of the Men’s 7s team for the 2018 Commonwealth Games likely to feature in this weekend’s Commonwealth 7s

5 players that were part of the Fiji Men’s 7s team for the 2018 Commonwealth Games are likely to feature once again in this weekend’s Commonwealth 7s.

Olympic gold medalists Jerry Tuwai, Semi Kunatani, Josua Vakurunabili together with Paula Dranisinukula and Sevuloni Mocenacagi were part of the team that lost in the final to New Zealand in Gold Coast.

These players will spearhead Fiji’s campaign to win the elusive Commonwealth Games gold medal which is the only major medal missing from the Fiji 7s honours board.

Coach Ben Gollings has also included players such as Elia Canakaivata, Tevita Daugunu, Jerry Matana, Pilipo Bukayaro, Waisea Nacuqu, Filipe Sauturaga,Kaminieli Rasaku, Sireli Maqala Aminiasi Tuimaba, Vuiviawa Naduvalo and Manueli Maisamoa.

The Fiji men’s team will play Zambia at 12.02am Saturday.

Their second match is against Canada at 8.32am Saturday before they face Wales at 12.02am Sunday.

The quarter finals will start at 7.26am Sunday, the semifinals will be at 12.12am Monday while the Commonwealth Games 7s Gold Medal match will be at 8.26am on Monday 1st August.

Meanwhile, the Fijiana 7s team will face Scotland at 8.22pm this Friday, they will meet South Africa in their second match at 4.30am Saturday before they face Australia at 8.22pm Saturday.

The semi finals will kick off at 6.42am Sunday while the women’s gold final will start at 8.04am Monday 1st August.
