48 gold medals are up for grabs on Day 2 of the Coca-Cola Games at the ANZ Stadium today.
There are 23 gold medals available in the girls division and 25 in the boys division.
The finals of the 100 metres, 400 metres and 800 metres will be held today.
The 800 metres finals will start at 2.30pm, the 400 metres finals will begin at 3.20pm while the 100 metres finals will start at 4pm.
Other finals that will be held today in the Girls Division are the Sub-Junior Girls Discus, Senior Girls Triple Jump, Intermediate Girls Shot Put, Girls 3000 metres, Intermediate Girls Long Jump, Junior Girls Discus, Senior Girl High Jump, Sub-Junior Girls Long Jump, Senior Girls Discuss, Intermediate Girl High Jump and sub-Junior Girls Javelin.
In the Boys Division other finals that will be held today are the Intermediate Boys Javelin, Intermediate High Jump, Sub Junior Boys Long Jump, Junior Boys Shot Put, Boys 3000 metres, Sub-Junior Boys Shot Put, Junior Boys Javelin, Senior Boys Long Jump, Intermediate Boys Shot Put, Senior Boys Javelin, Sub-Junior Boys High Jump, Intermediate Boy Long Jump and Junior Boys Discus.

Old rivalries will be rekindled during the Senior Boys 100 metres race later today.
Two of the favourites, Natabua High School’s Nemani Mudrelagi and Kolinio Radrudru of RKS were the top two athletes in the Intermediate Grade last year’s Coke Games.
Radrudru won gold in the 100 metres while Mudrelagi had to settle for silver. Mudrelagi got the better of Radrudru in the 200 metres last year.
Going into the race, Mudrelagi ran the fastest time with 11.07 seconds while Kolinio Radrudru recorded the second fastest time of 11.12 seconds in the heats.
Other top contenders for the title are RKS athletes Joeli Bolakoro and Josaia Bosoka and Marist’s Viliame Rekitilako.
Looking at the Senior Girls 100 metres race, Braelynn Yee of Saint Joseph’s Secondary School, Fane Sauvakacolo of Suva Grammar School, Salote Baravilala of Jasper Williams High School and Serenia Ragatu of ACS are the favourites for the event.
Baravilala recorded the fastest time of 12.66 seconds while Yee and Sauvakacolo recorded the second fastest time of 12.75 seconds.
Baravilala is the top athlete coming from the Intermediate Girls 100 metres race last year where she finished second. She was beaten by Heleina Young who is no longer in High School.
Serenia Ragatu had finished second in the Intermediate Girls 200 metres losing to Heleina Young.
In the Intermediate Boys 100 metres, Marist’s Lasarusa Senibale, Benjamin Dickson and Taniela Turaganikeli of Suva Grammar and Tevita Sokiveta from RKS are the some of the athletes to watch out for.
Looking at the Intermediate Girls 100 metres, ACS will have Marica Korovulavula, Amele Navabale and Naomi Sigaruarua trying to win gold while they will face tough competition from Unaisi Tagabale of Jasper.
Mesulame Tuigau of RKS will be the favourite in the Junior Boys 100 metres after clocking the fastest time of 11.83 seconds in the heat.
Alipate Vuiwakaya of Natabua, Netani Sakealevu of Suva Grammar, Tomasi Seru of QVS and Orisi Seduadua of Lelean are the other top athletes to watch out for.
Tokasa Gukirewa of Saint Joseph’s is the favourite in the Junior Girls 100 metres with a time of 13.02 seconds. Sereana Vulaono of LDS Maraia Bulidromodromo of Suva Grammar are also in contention.
