The National Disaster Management Office has certified 42 individuals and organizations raising funds and collecting items for Fijians affected by Tropical Cyclone Yasa.

This was confirmed by the National Disaster Controller and Permanent Secretary, for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management David Kolitagane.

Kolitagane says they are also requesting others to register their current or intended activity with the NDMO.

Meanwhile, the Minister for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management Inia Seruiratu says whilst they appreciate any relief assistance that is being provided by partners, they are urging them to coordinate with the relevant authorities so that assistance is not duplicated.

He says by coordinating together they will be able to minimize duplication and ensure that there is fair distribution of the relief items.
