A 40-year-old man will appear in the Nausori Magistrates Court this afternoon for his alleged involvement in a hit and run accident in Mokani, Tailevu on Sunday which caused the death of a 19-year-old man.
He has been charged with one count of dangerous driving occasioning death and one count of failure to comply with requirements following an accident.
Police say he was arrested after investigators viewed CCTV cameras and conducted house to house enquiries following information gathered from members of the public.
According to Police, the man was sleeping on the side of the road when the alleged incident occurred.
A man walking nearby heard the sounds of the accident and found the man’s body.
