40 New Caledonia based companies are visiting Fiji to explore opportunities and to develop relationship with the Fiji private sector through the Fiji – New Caledonia Business Forum.
New Caledonia Member of Government in charge of the Economy, External Trade, Taxation, Digital and Solidarity Policy Christopher Gyg’es says that they have long looked into its own territory and the development and they have always identified Fiji of being an economic strong hold in the pacific and that is the reason for this first economy mission from the newly electively government.
Gyg’es says the Attorney General and Minster for economy has identified sectors which will provide good opportunities for the New Caledonia based companies to invest and there is a strong potential, in particular with medical services, agriculture, construction, roads and also with Information Technology.
He says they have met with the Minister Foreign Affairs, Health and Medical Services and still yet to see the Minster for Agriculture and Mineral Resources.
He also says they see an interest in conducting a negotiation towards the conclusion to such an agreement and they will have to work together between the government New Caladenia and the government of Fiji and the private sector in Fiji.
