The spot fine of $40 for Jaywalking will come into effect on 29th of this month.
This has been confirmed by the LTA and Police.
Director Police Operations, SSP Rusiate Tudravu said they will work with the LTA to collect spot fines and issuing traffic infringements notices to those caught Jaywalking.
When asked how police will gather true identification about all those caught Jaywalking, SSP Tudravu said they have technologies available to establish whether people are giving correct information.
