4 out of 7 victims of sexual offences in Sept were under the age of 18 years

4 of the 7 victims of sexual offences last month were under the age of 18 years.

There were 3 incidents where the victim and the accused were related to one another.

According to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, 7 people were charged with a total of 12 counts of separate sexual offences in September.

A 77-year-old man was charged with the rape of his 8-year-old great-granddaughter.

A 42-year-old man was charged with the rape and sexual assault of his 14-year-old niece while in another incident, a 58-year-old man was charged with the rape and indecent assault of his 34-year-old niece.

There was one incident where a 33-year-old man was charged with the rape and defilement of a 15-year-old girl.

A 33-year-old man was charged with the rape of a 16-year-old girl.

There were two separate incidents where a 19-year-old man and a 39-year-old man were charged with the rape of a 19-year-old woman and a 29-year-old woman whilst they were drunk.
