The four lane road between Nakasi to Nausori has been opened for operational purpose from today.

Chief Executive Officer of the Fiji Roads Authority, Jonathan Moore says over $50 million dollars has been invested into this project but there is still more work to be done which includes working together with Energy Fiji Limited on the power lines.

Moore says speeding on the road is too high and people need to maintain the speed level to avoid accidents.

He says FRA is working with the Fiji Police Force to monitor the speed of the drivers on the road with their own speed cameras in the next few weeks while they are working with LTA to install at least two to three speed cameras.

Moore says the road is designed for the next 25 years but it also needs proper routine maintenance.

Moore says the road will be officially opened in the next few months.
