The 3rd Fijian Infantry Regiment of the Republic of the Fiji Military Force is teaming up with the U.S. Army Infantry Regiment for bilateral military training in Vanua Levu.
The US Embassy says this is to strengthen the RFMF and the US Army’s capacity as regional leaders and increase cooperation between the two militaries.
US Army Captain Douglas Richardson says they are here to build readiness with Fiji, strengthen that relationship through training, and to work with Fiji in case of an emergency.
The exercise sponsored by U.S. Army Pacific Command begins in Vanua Levu today and will conclude on the 29th to August.
