$3,809,205 was today paid by government to China based Real Dream Production Company Limited as film tax rebate.
The company shot a film in Fiji “Where Are We Going Daddy? 2" in 2014.
This movie is a reality based film about celebrity dads and their children who are brought to Fiji to experience life in a Fijian village.
It was shot in Taveuni, Pacific Harbour, Monuriki and Nadi.
The movie was released in China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia last year.
A total of 400 Chinese cast and crew along with 200 locals were hired during the shooting of the movie.
Film Fiji’s CEO, Dallas Foon says all goods, food and hardware were purchased in Taveuni.
He says US$30 million worth of television advertising was done on Hunan TV which is the most influential TV station in China.
Foon also revealed that this had a major impact to Fiji’s tourism industry as there was 42 percent increase in visitor arrivals from China in 2015 compared to 2014.
Meanwhile, the General Manager of Real Dream Production Company Limited Anna Fan says they will shoot another movie later this year.
She says they are currently working on the script.
Attorney General and Finance Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum handed over the cheque to Anna Fan this afternoon.
