$30M spent from 2015 to develop the province of Tailevu

The Government has spent over 30 million dollars from 2015 to this year to develop the province of Tailevu.

This has been highlighted by the Permanent Secretary for Itaukei Affairs, Naipote Katonitabua in the Tailevu Provincial Council meeting today.

Katonitabua says this shows the government’s commitment to develop and help the lives of ordinary Fijians.

The development includes building of roads, new schools,  renovation of schools, upgrade of water mains, health centres and hospitals.

Some of the items on the agenda that will be discussed in the two day meeting will include climate change, the committee’s financial report, investments, developments, health care, water, road developments and the well‑being of the people of Tailevu.

The Tailevu Provincial Council meeting is currently underway on the island of Bau and will end tomorrow.
