30 Yat Sen Secondary School students of year 13 graduate, 123 students awarded for their hard work

123 students of Yat Sen Secondary School were awarded for their hard work in this academic year while 30 year 13 students have graduated from the school.

Janey Du was awarded the 2019 Dux award.

While speaking at the prize-giving ceremony, The Principal of Yat Sen Secondary School, Bobby Maharaj says the school achieved 100% pass in Fiji Year 13 Certificate Examination last year and 41% of the students scored above 300 out of 400.

Meanwhile, the Minister for Education, Rosy Akbar told the 318 students of Yat Sen Secondary School that the government has allocated $181 million for TELS scheme, 950 toppers scholarship for local students and 20 overseas toppers scholarship in this financial year for the students.

Akbar says the government is assisting the students to their best and expects the students to work hard towards achieving the best.

The prize-giving ceremony was also attended by the Chinese Ambassador to Fiji, Qian Bo, USP's Dean of Faculty of Science, Technology, and Environment, Dr. Anjeela Jokhan and the President of the Chinese Association of Fiji, Jenny Seeto.
