Thirty leading Chinese companies are set to participate in a two-day Chinese Trade Exhibition at the Vodafone Arena, starting this Thursday.
Deputy Representative of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Representative Office in Australia Ma Lei, stressed the significance in fostering economic and trade collaboration between China and Fiji.
Lei says prominent companies such as Huawei, China Mobile, China Railway, Daqin Energy Storage, SHACMAN, and Great Wall Motors will be among the exhibitors.
He says these companies represent diverse industries, including infrastructure development, general machinery, electronics and agricultural equipment.
Permanent Secretary for Trade, Shaheen Ali says the exhibition is an excellent platform to attract Chinese investments into Fiji’s economy.
Ali further says it will provide the platform for potential technology transfer, which is important for the nation’s development across multiple sectors.
He says they are also working to involve local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the exhibition to facilitate the exchange of ideas.
Ali adds this event promises to strengthen ties between the two countries, unlocking opportunities for investment, innovation and sustainable development.
