A 3-year-old boy has been found floating in the Totogo Creek in Levuka.
Police say the discovery was made by a 14-year-old student a few metres from the victim's residence yesterday afternoon.
The child’s body is being kept at the Levuka Mortuary and post mortem will be done tomorrow at the CWM Hospital.
Police say in another case, a 58-year-old man drowned while diving for freshwater mussels with his family in the Nakadi River in Baulevu after 1pm yesterday.
They say when they realised he was missing, a search was conducted and his body was found floating a few metres downstream.
Police say attempts to revive him were futile and his body was taken to the Nausori Health Centre.
Deputy Divisional Police Commander East, Uraia Dovu says the post-mortem was done today at the CWM Hospital to confirm the cause of death.
Investigations continue for both incidents.
