Three people are in police custody for unlawful possession of illicit drugs believed to be marijuana and methamphetamine after spot checks conducted by officers on foot patrol.
Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations (ACP) Livai Driu says the momentum of policing operations will be heightened as we near the end of the two major festivals and the two-week school holiday.
He says the confiscated substances have been sent for analysis.
He is also calling on parents and guardians to be aware of their children’s whereabouts at all times after two reports of missing children, who were later reunited with their families at the Hibiscus police tent located near the main civic centre building, were received by Police.
ACP Driu says they have also warned nightclub operators not to allow minors in, as officers noted young people outside the premises and warned them to leave.
He adds the Police Force will continue to call for cooperation with regard to adherence to safety and security advisories, pleading for a change in mindset to being safety and security conscious at all times.
