The $290 million development of Fiji's first ever casino will be funded by One Hundred Sands limited and international investors.

Chairperson Larry Claunch confirmed to Fijivillage that the cost will be used on the construction and international marketing of the casino, resort, convention centre and the extensive training program of local staff.

The construction of the casino will cost $290 million where more than 800 jobs are expected to be created.

The ground breaking ceremony will be held at Denarau next Saturday.

The casino is expected to be completed by September 2013.
