29 Assistant Youth Officers today began a two-day induction workshop at the Youth Training Centre in Valelevu.
While opening the workshop, Minister for Youth and Sports, Parveen Bala says the role of the officers is an essential one in the development of youths throughout the country.
He says their position as Assistant Youth Officers is essential to the development of Fijian youth, which will contribute to a better tomorrow for our society, economy, and our country
Bala adds how they see themselves will translate into how they present themselves to those that they serve.
He says if they see themselves as servants, they are able to listen, they are humble, they value their clients, the youths, they trust and they care.
The Minister says all that will translate into how our Fijian youth react to them; it will make them accessible and approachable to them adding for that to happen, they need to understand that youth are not there simply to be talked to and told what to do.
