The 23-year-old driver who allegedly hit a 77-year-old woman in front of the Lami Police Station yesterday resulting in her death has been charged.
Police say the accused has been charged with one count of dangerous driving occasioning death and he will be produced in the Suva Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Th elderly woman who was on her way to visit a relative in Lami had gotten off a bus and was crossing the road when she was hit by the private vehicle.
She passed away at the scene of the accident.
