226 employees of the Fiji Ports Corporation Limited and Fiji Ships and Heavy Industries Limited received an early Christmas gift as they will be sharing a bonus payout of $347,983.87.

While announcing the bonus payment, Permanent Secretary for Industry and Trade and Chairman of Fiji Ports Corporation Limited, Shaheen Ali says the bonus payout is a recognition and acknowledgment of the collective achievement of the staff who have contributed in their own way to the financial achievements of the company.

Ali says this bonus shows that Fiji Ports Group continues to perform better thus this bonus announcement is a way of thanking and giving back to the staff.

He says Fiji Ports Corporation Limited's performance measurement is based on a vigorous assessment of individual indicators provided to their staff at the beginning of the year and this method is comparable to international best practices in performance management.

He adds the large bonus payout is an indication of the dedication and the hard work of their staff, coupled with strategic leadership that has enabled Fiji Ports Corporation Limited to achieve an unprecedented level of success.

The Fiji Ports Corporation Limited also launched its 5-year strategic plan today.
