20 murder cases reported in 2020

20 murder cases were reported last year while there were 12 cases of attempted murder, 13 manslaughter cases and 123 cases of aggravated robbery.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions says 695 people were charged with 759 separate counts of serious offences in 2020 which includes 84 people below the age of 18.

Out of these 695 people, 67 were police officers and of the 759 offences, there were 53 offences where the accused and the victim were related.

71 of these cases were discontinued in 2020.
