Sending students home due to low to no water supply will be a thing of the past for more than 150 students of Noco Secondary School in Rewa after the school received two 5,200-litre water tanks to addressed water problems and helped promote good sanitation.
Noco Secondary School teacher Taitusi Rawaivono says in the past, they normally experienced shortages or sometimes low water pressure that caused the school to close early.
He says through this initiative, they have managed to collect rainwater that will be used in the washrooms whenever they face low water pressure.
Rawaivono says they are grateful to the Ministry for Health for the water tanks that will benefit the school and the community as well.
As part of the Ministry’s WASH project, the school was also provided free handwashing soaps and educational materials.
Noco Secondary School is one of the five schools in Tailevu which were supplied with water tanks under the Ministry of Health’s WASH Program.
