Two men who broke into the Speaker of Parliament, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau's house last year and stole items worth over $6,000 will spend 7 months behind bars.
36-year-old farmer, Ratu Jone Latianara and 34-year-old baker, Semi Vakarau were convicted for a count each of theft and aggravated burglary.
They had earlier pleaded guilty.
The two broke into the Speaker's home in Lomanikoro on Bau Island on the 5th of November, last year.
They stole $6,750 worth of mats, masi, gas stoves and cooking utensils.
