There were 2 lives lost in fatal road accidents over the weekend.
The first was a 29-year-old man who was a passenger in a car driven by a 28-year-old man on Friday night along Princes Road near Colo-i-Suva.
The vehicle he was in veered off the road resulting in the accident.
Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro says the alleged suspect was under the influence of alcohol and does not have a valid driving license.
The victim died at the scene and investigations continue.
In the second incident, a 23-year-old farmer in Waibogi Settlement, was allegedly hit by a vehicle driven by a 37-year-old yesterday afternoon near Yadua village in Sigatoka.
Naisoro says the suspect allegedly tried to flee the scene when his vehicle collided with another vehicle travelling from the opposite direction.
She adds the suspect was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody at the Sigatoka Police Station as investigations continue.
