2 former Fiji citizens embark on a multi million-dollar project in Vunika, Labasa

New job opportunities are expected to be created as two former Fiji citizens have embarked on a multi million-dollar project of opening a fuel station, a pharmacy and developing 100 residential and 20 commercial lots in Vunika, Labasa.

Vunami Development PTE Limited Directors, Jitendra Chand and Suresh Mani who are originally from Vunika have successfully opened their $1.1 million supermarket in Vuo, Labasa in February this year.

Chand says Fiji has a favorable and conducive environment to start a business, and it was an opportune time for them to reintroduce themselves in the community.

He says he always desired to return with the most promising investment plan that would enable him to provide services to his.

He says the objective is to develop high-end properties, a pharmacy, and a fuel station to provide the locals with the same service that they would receive if they were abroad.

Chand says they intend to uplift the standard of living for people in the North and are optimistic they can soon evolve into something more, and maybe expand to other parts of the country. The two inspiring businessmen have acknowledged Investment Fiji, which they say has been integral in turning their business plan into a reality

Investment Fiji Acting Chief Executive Officer Kamal Chetty says this is a significant investment as there will be many benefits to help grow economic activity in the Northern Division.
