2 Evacuation centres open in Rakiraki

National Disaster Management Office has confirmed that there are two evacuation centres in Rakiraki which are Penang Sangam High School and Rakiraki Mission School.

NDMO says that there is total of five evacuation centres in the Western division and there are 89 people who are being sheltered in the five evacuation centres.

Parts of Labasa are now experiencing heavy down pour and increase in flood waters.

A resident of Waiqele says the Waiqele - Naduna crossing is under water along with the Caquru and the Nasaqa bridges.

Fijivillage has also received confirmation that the Baubale and Urata road are also flooded.

Meanwhile, the three fallen power lines at the Baulevu roads in Kasavu have been put up again however residents say that they still are experiencing power outages from this morning.
