1,961 people have upgraded their voter cards since this Monday which includes 204 new registrations.
Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem says the new registrations are encouraging considering students are at home and have the time to come and register for the elections.
Saneem says they will be opening Voter Service Centres around the country till next week to allow Fijians to upgrade their voter cards.
He says they will be rolling this out on a larger scale over the weekend.
Saneem says from tomorrow they will have their teams in Suva, Navua, Sigatoka, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Rakiraki and Labasa.
He says they are starting in towns and cities and then move to the rural areas where they will go to every settlement.
Saneem adds so far they have seen a huge turnout at the Voter Service Centres and people are turning up with their birth certificates.
He also says people who are not citizens of this country by birth will need to bring the birth certificate of the country they are from.
