190 police officers successfully passed-out from the Fiji Police Force Basic Recruits Passout parade today at the Nasova barracks.
This included 116 male officers and 74 female officers.
While officiating at the passout parade, Acting Prime Minister and Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum reminded the officers of the importance of the uniform they are wearing.
He says officers should equally apply the law when enforcing them because it gives confidence to members of the public.
He says they should not take into account a person's affiliation, ethnicity, religion or if they went to school together.
Sayed-Khaiyum adds when a law is made, it should be applied to everybody.
Constable Iowane Koro Waqalevu Jnr received the Baton of Honour Award, Constable Cilia Tawakedrau received the Commandant’s Book Prize while Constable Beni Marama Kakaivalu received the Commandant’s Book Prize for the Most Improved recipient.
