19 evacuation centers are now open in Nadi.
Divisional Planning Officer Western Sitiveni Tavaga said some of the evacuation centers are Saint Andrews School, Vuniyasi District School, Nadi Muslim School, Dratabu Village Hall and Mount St Mary’s Primary School.
Tavaga said the water level in Nadi Town is about 6.2 metres.
He also said parts of Nadi are without power supply.
Police in Nadi said that their officers are on the ground assisting people in Nadi.
They said Nadi town is still closed and they are monitoring the situation.
Meanwhile, flood waters have entered 10 houses in Yavusania village in Nadi.
Vika Driu who lives close to the village said the villagers have moved to the evacuation centre.
About 30 to 40 houses in Koromakawa, Nadi, have been flooded.
RS Goundar who lives close to the village said most of the people in Koromakawa have moved to a few double story houses while others have moved to high ground.
Goundar said houses in Navo have also been affected by flood waters.
