189,066 students will start the new school year from today.

7,023 students will enroll for the first time at an Early Childhood Education Centre and 5,242 students will complete 13 years of formal learning in the education system at a Secondary School.

She says as one nation, let us continue to strive for a future where all our children can access quality education and achieve educational excellence in the learning areas of their choice.

Akbar adds she hopes that together we can find common ground on effective efforts to sustainably improve learning outcomes for our students.

She has commend the teachers, parents and school management of our great nation and  invited government and non-government organisations, the media and all Fijians to join the Ministry in promoting their targeted efforts in ensuring quality and equitable education for the children.
