A 16-year-old student has allegedly been found with dried leaves believed to be marijuana in school.
Police say the matter was reported at the Rakiraki Police Station after his teacher discovered the dried leaves hidden inside a highlighter.
In a raid conducted by the Labasa task force in Vunivau, several small clear bags containing dried leaves believed to be marijuana were seized from the home of a man reported to be selling the illicit substance.
Police continue to urge parents and guardians to talk to their children about the consequences of illicit drug and substance abuse on their young lives and future.
Police also say with cases of unlawful possession of illicit drugs on the rise, and operations focus on curbing the illegal trade, they reiterate the need for community support in the war on drugs.
