Close to $15 million will be pumped into Fiji's economy with the construction of an iconic complex at the old Nausori bus stand site which will be known as the Zhong Fhei Nausori City.
The construction of a two‑story complex which will have shop spaces, supermarkets and conference rooms is expected to start as early as August this year and is expected to be ready in 12 to 18 months time.
Nausori chief, the Komai Nausori, Ratu Lepani Tagicakibau says they have established a joint venture company with Chinese partners who will be fully funding the project and they will provide the land.
The site which is few metres away from the Rewa River is also expected to become a tourist attraction as the complex will have an entrance from the river end allowing water sporting activities.
An agreement has been reached where the landowners will get 30% of the profit.
Tagicakibau says this complex upon completion of construction works will give Nausori a totally different look from the Davuilevu and Dilkusha end.
