15 of Fiji’s best fashion designers showcased their designs last night during the Fiji Fashion Week Resort Luxe Show.
The designers have spent 3 months to almost a year on their designs and have invested hundreds of thousands of dollars on their prints, types of fabrics they are using.
The designers include Aisea Konrote, Hupfeld Hoerder, Ellen Whippy-Knight, Moira Solvalu, Sonam Sapra, Rosi Semisi, Hosanna Kabakoro, Temesia Tuicaumia, Susana Samuels, Robert Kennedy, Andrew Powell, Tracy Farrington, Letila Mijieli, Epeli Tuibeqam and Samson Lee.
Meanwhile, the Managing Director for Fiji Fashion Week Ltd Ellen Whippy-Knight says COVID-19 was no match for their passion. Whippy-Knight says 2020 has been a challenging year for the fashion industry globally, and for Fiji Fashion Week, their designers and creatives.
Whippy-Knight says at every turn they have stood up and led the way for the industry.
She adds with big ambitions for Fiji Fashion Week 2020, including a brand refresh to better position them on the global stage, no one could have anticipated how the year unfolded.
Whippy-Knight says they are excited by what the future holds for Fiji Fashion Week as they are fresh, agile and innovative and with the support of designers, models and others in the industry they can pivot to not only meet the challenge but lead their way into a fantastic future.
