14-year-old Anahira McCutcheon and 16-year-old Kelera Mudunakoso continued with their impressive forms as they helped the 4x100 metres medley relay team win silver last night at the Pacific Games.
This is McCutcheon’s 9th medal and Mudunakoso’s 5th medal at the Games.
Team Fiji was made up of McCutcheon, Mudunakoso, 15-year-old Eden Waqainabete and 21-year-old Rosemarie Rova.
They clocked a time of 4 minutes 32.51 seconds.
New Caledonia won gold, while Tahiti won bronze.
After winning her 8th medal in the 100-metre Women’s backstroke, McCutcheon, says it felt weird being the youngest and winning the most medals in Team Fiji and it was a tough swim for her as it was her last individual event.
Meanwhile, Mere Rodan won gold in the Table Tennis Women’s seated singles.
The Fiji Men's Basketball side has secured their semi-final spot after defeating New Caledonia 71-60.
They will play Guam at 5.30pm today in the final.
Sandip Pala and Manasa Naqelevuki both won bronze in Karate.
Naqelevuki also won silver in the Under 84kg Male Kumite.
The Fiji Men's rugby 7s side beat the Solomon Islands 74-0 in the quarter finals to book a spot in the semi finals that will kick off at 2.48pm today.
The Digicel Kulas are also through to the semi-finals after beating the Solomon Islands 4-1.
Fiji is currently in 7th place in the overall Pacific Games medal tally with 7 gold, 13 silver and 13 bronze medals. New Caledonia is leading with 46 gold, 32 silver and 29 bronze, while Australia is in second place with 24 gold, 16 silver and 7 bronze.
