14 students of Wainikeli Junior Secondary School in Taveuni will now be able to do research and learn much more as they have received $4,000 worth of computers and printer from Paradise Tech Traders based in Vanua Levu.
School Principal Eneriko Qalica says they received the help as they are seeking assistance in the running of the school as they started this year and have not yet received grants from the Ministry of Education.
Qalica says he feels overwhelmed after receiving the computer assets as students will enjoy learning in school.
He says there are three teachers and 14 students in school right now who will get exposed to technological world and do some surveys.
He says the school is in the rural area and the computer sets will help these students.
Qalica says as they are a new school, they request people for assistance such as providing them with photocopy machines, printers, more computers and other school supplies until the grant comes in.
Paradise Tech Traders Director Shavneel Singh says the principal requested for assistance during their recent visit to Taveuni.
He says with the help of 3 of his friends, they donated 4 HP desktops worth $750 and printer worth $299.
Singh says they also donated cash towards their Coca-Cola Games preparation.
He says he started the company in August last year and this is part of their corporate social responsibility.
The company director says they have assisted other schools and local communities, within their means.
He hopes the school benefits from this initiative and the students develop their knowledge in IT and be up to par in this digital era.
