Fiji Airports will be paying out $1,135,000 in bonuses to 540 of its staff tomorrow, at an average of $2,100 per person.

Bonus will be paid out in 3 tiers starting at $1,500; $2,000 and 6% of salary; but excluded senior executives who are not entitled to across the board bonuses.

Fiji Airports CEO, Faiz Khan says these bonuses before Christmas are given across the board to majority of their colleagues based on the success of their company.

He says this year they received recognition at the prestigious Prime Minister’s Awards for the Supreme Award; received Silver Awards in Asia Pacific for Green Airports; and received level 2 carbon accreditation certification.

He adds they have have successfully delivered a number of infrastructure and systems related projects designed to improve the services they provide to their customers both as an airport operator and as an air navigation service provider .

Khan says Fiji Airports is unique in that it is the only airport in the region and most of the world that manages its 15 airports and its air navigation service provider .

He says with the surveillance upgrades for their air navigation service provider, the multiple runway enhancement projects in outer islands such as Levuka and Lakeba that are completed and with Kadavu and Labasa commencing in the new year; with Nausori runway upgrades 40% complete; and with the $3 billion to be spent over the next 25 years on the Nadi Airport Master Plan that is now into its implementation phase; they have challenging yet exciting times ahead.

Khan says this bonus payment is not based on individual performances but based on how the organization performed as a whole adding throughout the year the company, continuously recognises individuals who excel in their performances.

The CEO adds they have seen their people grow and continue to be hungry to grow further.

Khan has thanked their Board of Directors and shareholders for their ongoing support, and thanked the Prime Minister and Attorney General Minister responsible for Civil Aviation for approving these bonuses.
