The University of South Pacific has shortlisted 110 students for the JENESYS programme, a cultural exchange programme fully funded by the Government of Japan.
The University with the International Office coordinated this project that offers participants a correlated theme for the study tour of Japan.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jito Vanualaila, say the project will build a closer relationship between Japan and Pacific Island countries as the JENESYS 2022 project will allow the students to engage with the local communities and visit cultural sites.
Bachelor of Science student Ruthie Konusi is looking forward to learning about a different culture.
Bachelor of Arts student Kaian Isaac says technology and the Japanese culture are the factors that excite him, and he will explore them during this programme.
The Japanese Ambassador to Fiji, Kawakami Fumihiro, says the program aims to develop cohesive societies in the coming years and have a deeper understanding of both countries.
