While speaking at the graduation, Academic and Staff Board Chairman Amraiya Naidu says the college has today graduated 445 nurses with a diploma, 28 enrolled nurses, 75 midwives, 8 nurse practitioners, and 21 age caregivers.
Naidu says it is a matter of great pride and achievement for a young institution to have made a sizeable contribution by training out 922 nurses with degree qualifications to serve in the country since 2015.
Laisa Baleisaqani Muarewa Tora who has been a midwife for 4 years at the Lautoka Hospital was awarded the Overall Academic Excellence award in Bachelor of Nursing Science in the post‑registration program.
Tora says it was challenging for her to undertake the program without the availability of her husband.
She hopes other nurses are inspired by her achievement.
