103 Fijian workers leaving for overseas employment have been reminded to make the best use of the opportunity given to them and not to let it go to waste.

While speaking to them, Minister for Employment, Parveen Bala says this is a very special moment for everyone because they have been selected for employment opportunities through their “Vuvale Partnership” with Australia.

He says this opportunity will enable them to provide for their families and meet their needs during these challenging times.

Some of the selected workers will be engaged in the seasonal work program for up to nine months while the rest of the workers selected under the longer-term engagement of four years will be engaged in meat works and hospitality.

Over 5,200 Fijians have participated under the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility Scheme and Recognised Seasonal Employer Scheme in New Zealand.
