100 inmates and 24 officers from Naboro were part of a roadside clean‑up program as the Fiji Corrections Services showed their support of the National Climate Change week and Fiji’s Presidency to COP23 in November.
The clean‑up began in the early hours of the morning.
Inmates, both men and women from the Naboro and Korovou Corrections Center took to the roadside between the two centers for the event.
Assistant Commissioner of Corrections Operations, Apimeleki Taukei says that the Fiji Corrections Service carried out the exercise to support the Government's efforts in creating awareness on an issue that affects us all.
Taukei adds that this is their contribution as an organisation for an awareness campaign that our Prime Minister is spearheading at a global level.
