One crew member of the fishing vessel that went overboard on Monday about 90 miles west of Navula Passage outside of Momi Bay, is currently being transported to Suva for investigations.

Police say he was brought to the Namaka Police Station by the Fiji Navy officers.

Meanwhile the Commander of the Fiji Navy, Captain Humphrey Tawake has confirmed that this is a local fishing vessel and the five missing crew members are both locals and foreigners.

Fiji Navy through the Rescue Coordination Centre Fiji is coordinating the search.

In a statement, the Fiji Navy says the vessel was located and one of the crew members that fell overboard was also located late yesterday afternoon by the P3 Orion aircraft.

They say their focus is to save lives and ensure that the drifting vessel does not become a navigation hazard.
