Fiji Airways National Men’s 7s coach Osea Kolinisau says they are taking one tournament at a time, and their main focus for this season is to get that automatic spot for the Paris Olympic Games in July.
He says at the moment, they are preparing for three tournaments that are left for this season, and then it will take them six weeks to prepare for the Olympics.
Kolinisau says his message to the players is to keep that Olympic focus alive but not to forget the other tournaments during the season because it will determine whether they automatically qualify or not.
He adds the three tournaments left for the season will assist them in their build-up to the Olympic Games.
Meanwhile, the Fiji 7s teams are in Hong Kong preparing for the start of the tournament on Friday.
The men’s team will open their Hong Kong 7s campaign against Australia at 9.30pm Friday, they will then take on Canada at 12.33am Saturday and play France at 5.43pm Saturday in their final pool match.
The Fijiana 7s side will begin their campaign against Australia at 4.25pm Friday, they will then take on South Africa at 7.12pm Friday, and they will play Ireland at 3.02pm Saturday.
The Hong Kong 7s will be held from Friday to Sunday.
The Paris Olympics Rugby 7s competition will be held from the 24th to the 30th of July.
