The Police rugby team will have an uphill battle come this Friday in the FMF Sukuna Bowl competition.
Police Rugby Manager Deputy Divisional Police Commander Southern, Vilimoni Komairasea says their preparations this year has been different as there were restrictions in place and they were part of the COVID-19 operations team.
He says they understand that the Army side is the defending champion of the International Defence Rugby Competition and that a number of their players also played in the Digicel Escott Shield.
He says this will be a challenge for them this year.
The Sukuna Bowl competition will start with the soccer competition at 4pm Wednesday at Albert Park, the volleyball and netball competitions will be held on Thursday at the National Netball Centre and the rugby competition at the ANZ Stadium on Friday.
