Nancy Tikoisuva has been appointed as the Acting Director of Public Prosecutions.
This has been confirmed by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
They say she looks forward to this new journey and has encouraged the staff to continue to strive for excellence.
This comes as the former Acting DPP John Rabuku vacated his office on Wednesday night after receiving his letter from the Office of the President for the revocation of his appointment.
This follows as the Supreme Court of Fiji had concluded that Rabuku was ineligible to be appointed as Director of Public Prosecutions.
Cabinet had made a referral to the Court concerning the interpretation of section 105(2)(b) of the Constitution, in particular, whether an Independent Legal Services Commission finding in a disciplinary proceeding instituted against a legal practitioner, is consistent with the intended finding of guilt in the constitutional provisions
